Orlando was born in Canterbury, Kent and, at the age of 16 moved to London where he attended National Youth Theatre for 2 seasons before getting a scholarship to train with the British Americam Drama Academy. He graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama after 3 years. His first film was Wilde, but had appeared in casulty and London's burning as very gorgeous extras!

Orlando also fell 3 storeys while attempting to climb his friends roof terrace in Notting Hill. He broke his back, and, while the doctors told him that he would never walk again, he came out of hospital 12 days after surgery on crutches. He also has 3 tattoos, one of which is the number nine in elvish, the other a sun on his torso, and one in an undisclosed area, and lives with his dog, Maude.
He has also broke his ribs, nose, both his legs, his arm, wrist a finger, a toe and cracked his skull 3 times.
